History and profile of 'Olympicpromo' Olympic Promotional Watches Ltd HistoryProfile

The Olympicpromo story begins at the racetracks of England, where in 1984 Peter Townsend became Formula Ford Champion, competing alongside the likes of Johnny Herbert, Damon Hill and Mark Blundell.

As expected an array of promotional merchandise was sold at these events, however, Peter noticed that personalised watches were not. He immediately recognised a gap in the market, that seemed like a great way of funding his racing ambitions.

One of the biggest names in motorsport in those days was Nigel Mansell. Seizing an opportunity, Peter persuaded Nigel to endorse his watches, the result was a resounding success.

Realising the full potential of customised watches and in true entrepreneurial style, Peter used his new found wealth to fly to Hong Kong in search of suppliers!

Peter's next break occurred when he heard about the new boy band 'BROS' and secured a deal with their management company, allowing him to produce a licensed watch. By placing a reader offer in the Teen Magazine Smash Hits, which featured in the November issue (just in time for Christmas!), he received a staggering response of 30,000 orders in the first two months alone!

What was intended to fund his motor racing ambitions soon took off and required his full time attention. Peter decided to give up racing and Olympic Promotional Watches was born.

Olympic Promotional Watches quickly became one of the largest importers of watches into the UK and has established itself as one of the finest suppliers of promotional watches, offering levels of quality and service second to none.

In order to develop the business further, Olympic Promotional Watches acquired agencies for corporate watch brands. These include, Tag Heur, Omega, Longines, Zenith, Alfred Dunhill, Ellesse, Adidas, Tissot and Rotary to name but a few. These watches are used by many clients for incentive programmes or in recognition award schemes.

Peter's determination to drive the company forward meant that specialising in just watches wasn't going to be enough. Peter realised it was time to expand the business, and decided to look at the bigger picture of sales promotion.

In order to reinforce this message, Olympic Promotional Watches went through a brave rebranding campaign to become Olympicpromo.

Olympicpromo is still a supplier of watches, but also can now deal with all your Sales Promotion needs.
